Boarding
Spiritwood offers excellent boarding facilities for horses and their owners. A light and airy 20-stall barn houses boarder and school horses alike. Our spacious stalls feature automatic waters, salt blocks and fans. The barn, which has skylights, includes an insect/fly spray system, an indoor washrack with hot and cold water, and large lockable tackrooms. A restroom and fridge for keeping drinks cool are provided for the comfort of our clients.
The horses benefit from daily turnout in generous treed areas with shade and water and surrounded with pipe and cable fencing. We feed grain twice a day and hay three times a day. A variety of feeds are available. We use shavings for bedding in the stalls, which we clean daily.
In addition, owners and riders enjoy a large, lighted arena (150' x 250') with piped fencing. We have an open door policy that enables boarders to come out and ride at any time on any day. Our facilities also include trailer parking and a graveled parking lot.
Boarding is arranged on a monthly basis at $395.00 a month. However, daily and weekly stays can be arranged. The boarding fee includes all turnout, three feedings daily, stall cleaning and some special care. We will feed your supplements once a day at no charge. Alfalfa and electrolytes are available for an additional charge.
You have your choice of veterinarian and farrier. The barn is currently served by three vets and three farriers.
Spiritwood is professionally managed by Sharon Easley McLain, who holds an equine studies degree and has about 40 years of practical experience caring for horses. Sharon and the Easley family own and reside at Spiritwood, allowing them to care for your horses needs at all times.
